Choosing Reddy's Pads - in 4 easy steps
1. First choose the style for you - Panty-Free or In Panty
2. Next, decide on 100% natural cotton flannel or organic cotton flannel
3. Figure out how many pads of each absorbency will best suit your cycle
4. Finally, if you choose the Panty Free style, select your belt.Reddy's are available in the economic 3-packs - 3 light, 3 medium or 3 heavy or the convenient mixed pack (one of each). They are also available as singles - light, medium or heavy.
Choosing your styleReddy’s Panty Free pads can be worn with or without underwear.
They are extremely reliable because they don’t move around. They are also fabulously comfortable as the pad suspends off the belt and feels very light.
Reddy’s Panty Free pads are also interchangeable as In Panty pads – they go both ways.
Reddy’s In Panty pads are worn with snug underwear. Their reliability is due to their length and absorbency. They are reassuringly comfortable.
Both styles are extremely popular with our thousands of Reddy’s customers, although we do sell more Panty Free pads. Perhaps it’s because of the way they feel on.
Choosing your cottonOur organic cotton flannel is luxuriant. It is dyed using ‘low impact’ dyeing methods at a local dye house. We hand select our colors – purples for light, reds for medium and blues and greens for heavy. We choose dark colors, for obvious reasons. All organic pads are available in solid colors.
We offer 100% cotton flannel pads, because there are no organic cottons available in patterns yet. We feel the pleasure women get when they wear their pads is very important. We use the same color coding for the pads - – purples for light, reds for medium and blues and greens for heavy.
As the fabric is subject to availability, we will select your fabrics for you.
What makes our fabric organic are the growing methods of the cotton. Organic cotton is much kinder to the environment in which it grows. The organic cotton industry also supports small farmers and sustainable farming practices.
Choosing your absorbency
Cloth pads are much more absorbent than disposable pads. Most women find they change their pads only once or twice a day.
Light The light pads are great for medium to light flow or as panty liners. They are narrower and the padding shorter, for ultimate protection and comfort. The padding is 10 layers thick. Light pads work wonderfully for light incontinence.
Medium The medium pads go either way. The padding is medium length and there are a total of 12 layers of fabric.
Heavy The heavy pads are 14 layers thick with 9” padding. They are great nighttime and postpartum pads because of the increased “catchment’ area. Heavy pads work well for women with heavy flow (although unfortunately, we cannot guarantee absorbency for extremely heavy periods, although many customers feel safer with cloth).
It is a misconception to think that the thicker the padding, the longer you will be able to wear the pad and therefore the more you will get for your money. The absorbencies have been finely tuned to the variation of flow throughout our cycles.
Choosing your belt
The Panty Free Belts are available in organic cotton and synthetic elastics. The synthetic belt has a plush finish on one side, and a satin finish on the back. The organic belts are rubber elastic covered with organic cotton.
You only need one belt for the Panty Free pads. However, some customers love to have a couple of colors to choose from. Our belts are hand dyed – colors and availability therefore vary.
The belt is adjustable, using the same hardware you use to adjust your bra strap. This means the measurement with the elasticity is usually a couple of inches over the sizes we use. So no need to worry about being exact.
Belts are available in ADJUSTABLE sizes. They come in:
• 25-30" or Pant Size 0-4
• 30-35"or Pant Size 6-10
• 35-40" or Pant Size 10-12
• 40-45"or Pant Size 12-14
